Milford Asset Management have announced that senior analyst Jason Kururangi will be joining their Sydney office in a move that continues its focus on an Australian expansion.

Kururangi, who previously spent eight years at Aberdeen Standard Investments in Australia and the UK, will work with portfolio managers William Curtayne and Wayne Gentle on the Milford Australian Absolute Growth Fund, which topped the Australian Equities – Alternative Strategies category at the recent Zenith Fund Awards.

Milford has also appointed Sydney-based Marissa Rossi to the newly-created position of head of sustainable investments.

Rossi said responsible investment criteria were an important part of Milford’s investment framework.

“Not only do investors want their investments to align with their values, they also know that companies with strong ESG credentials are well positioned to benefit from long-term structural tailwinds and better risk management,” said Rossi.

Milford currently has more than NZ$10 billion of funds under management and serves a wide range of clients, including more than 50,000 direct investors and financial advisers across both Australia and New Zealand.
