Ando Insurance Group has appointed Thérèse Singleton as its new chief operating officer and will sit on Ando’s Executive team.

Singleton was previously with AMP and took over running AMP Life when it was sold to Resolution Life.

Ando chief executive John Lyon said Singleton was appointed to help build Ando's capacity and skill sets, and help chart the course as our business matures and becomes more complex.

She has more than 25 years of experience in insurance. Singleton was previously the CEO of Resolution Life New Zealand and chief claims officer of Resolution Life Australasia. She is admitted as a solicitor and barrister of the High Courts of Ireland, England and New Zealand and is a member of the NZ Institute of Directors. She is also a member of the NZ Financial Advice Code Committee, which has established the new Code of Conduct for Financial Advice for New Zealand.

Singleton said, “I am very excited to be part of the inspirational Ando team, which has in a very short time experienced extraordinary growth. The vision for the business, the New Zealand ownership and the focus on New Zealand customers was central to my decision to join the Ando team.”

Good move from a run off business to one that has grown.

But I thought Ando was 40 per cent owned by Aussie / South African insurer Hollard
