Her appointment comes amid the group’s recent acquisition of the Private Wealth division of Trustees Executors, and significant internal promotions, including Jennifer Tweed to the role of chief operations officer and Kirsten Kilian-Taylor as head of Philanthropy.

Wootten is currently deputy chair of Tātaki Auckland Unlimited and the chief executive officer of Aktive – Auckland Sport and Recreation. She has extensive experience in leading commercially successful and high-profile events and was previously a director of Cricket 2021 Limited, the company established to deliver the 2021 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand.

Wootten also served as general manager partnerships and communications at Sport New Zealand, and as general manager, destination and manager major events at ATEED where she played a lead role in Auckland’s Rugby World Cup 2011 programme, the FIFA U-20 Men’s World Cup bid, and the creation of Auckland’s first Major Events Strategy.
