Fidelity Life has recorded the highest number of Career Connect graduates since it started the programme in 2023.
Recently 29 graduates completed the programme which has become a proven pathway for new advisers entering the industry.
“With a record 29 graduates this year, it’s a huge milestone for Career connect and a testament to the calibre of people coming through the programme,” says Michelle Doyle, Head of Solutions at Fidelity Life.
“We created Career connect to open doors, remove barriers and give aspiring advisers the skills and confidence to build meaningful careers. It’s incredibly rewarding to see that vision translate into real outcomes for people and the industry.”
Of the 29 graduates, 62% are women, with participants ranging in age from 20 to 65+. This highlights the programme’s appeal to both early career changers and those bringing significant life and professional experience into financial advice.
The cohort includes graduates who identify as Māori, Pasifika, Asian, Middle Eastern and European, with one in five identifying as Māori or Pasifika, reinforcing Career connect’s focus on building a more culturally representative advice profession in New Zealand.
Graduates are based right across the country, with strong representation in Auckland and Christchurch, alongside participants from Hamilton, Dunedin, Mosgiel, Papamoa and Hastings, underscoring the programme’s national reach.
“Career connect provided practical, real world learning alongside a strong foundation in ethics and professional standards. That combination has given me the confidence and credibility to take the next step into the advice profession,” says Olivera Vasic-Wooller, Rangi-Po scholarship recipient.
Fidelity Life is launching a Career connect employer registry, designed to help adviser businesses connect directly with motivated, trained and qualified graduates who are ready to begin their careers in financial advice.
The employer registry provides participating adviser businesses with access to short graduate profiles, including background, location and the types of opportunities graduates are seeking. Participating adviser businesses can select graduates they’d like to connect with and receive contact details directly, supporting timely, meaningful connections between new talent and the advice sector.
