Kernel adds BDM to work with advisers
Pedro Machado has just joined Kernel as a Business Development Manager, working directly with the advisers who recommend Kernel to their clients.
He's had an unusually broad career for the role — starting out pricing derivatives and running a trading desk, before moving into equity research sales, working as a financial adviser, and most recently serving as an investment specialist and product manager at Booster.
Kernel Head of Distribution Helen Skinner says; "Pedro's appointment comes as we're closing in on $5 billion in AUM (after passing $4 billion in May), with our KiwiSaver Plan past $1 billion in FUM since launching in 2022, and two new funds just launched."
"It's been a big year, and the team’s nearly doubled to keep pace with it. His hire is part of that growth, and in our support for financial advisers specifically.
"We see the provision of advice, and a strong adviser market, as key to better outcomes for Kiwis, and as more advisers bring Kernel into the conversation with their clients we want to keep investing in that relationship and the people who support it. Pedro's a big part of that."
