Squirrel contemplates NZX listing
Squirrel Mortgages is lining up to list on the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX) in the second half of next year.
The mortgage advisory and assets management company sees this move as the next step in its evolution.
Squirrel chief executive David Cunningham says the potential to list is based on several factors.
The company has been a publicly unlisted vehicle for 11 years and listing on the NZX will provide liquidity and price transparency for its more than 300 shareholders; its strong brand; and the strength of its assets management business as distinct from its mortgage advisory role brings visibility from a funding perspective. Squirrel has 15,000 retail investors but few institutional investors.
