Sharron Botica leaves AIA

The company has made two executive appointments following her resignation with Angela Busby stepping in as chief distribution officer, and Maddie Sherlock becoming AIA's chief customer officer.

As CDO Busby is responsible for business development including independent financial advisers and group distribution, Aligned Advice and AIA NZ’s ASB Partnership, as well as distribution performance and supervision.

She has more than 30 years financial markets experience leading teams and developing strategies. Previously, Busby was AIA’s chief customer officer and chief strategy officer. She has also held senior roles as chief people and culture officer at Sovereign, managing principal of ASB Securities (where she played an active role in developing and establishing Whakaterehia, ASB's Māori Leadership programme), and general manager of Aegis. 

Busby was previously chairperson for investment company TAHITO and is a prior member of the Sustainable Business Council (SBC) NZ Advisory Board. Of Māori descent, (Te Rarawa and Ngati Tūwharetoa).
