Paid Governance Opportunity – Join Our Southern Research Advisory Board

Start Date: Friday, September 4th 2026, 10:21AM

We take adviser participation in governance of our research processes seriously. With a database of around 30,000 evaluations covering more than 98% of on-sale products and more than 90% of the people with closed products, we maintain the most comprehensive research library on the New Zealand life and health insurance sector.

We would like to begin by extending our sincere thanks to our outgoing Research Advisory Board members — Travis Hamilton, Jeremy Bernstein, and Wilhelmina Eveleens.

When we first established the Research Advisory Board, we envisaged a two-year term for each member, and it was a privilege to be able to extend this to three years. As we look ahead, we are now keen to offer this opportunity to other advisers within our community.

On behalf of the entire team, thank you sincerely for your commitment and the important role you have played in supporting our research outcomes. Your contribution has been genuinely valued, and we would be delighted to welcome you back in a governance role in the future.

Recruitment
We are currently recruiting new members for our Southern Research Advisory Board, which will be chaired by Tony Dench.

This opportunity is open to advisers based in the South Island who are able to attend an annual meeting in Christchurch.

What Does the Role Involve?
The role of a Research Advisory Board member includes:
  • Reviewing a research briefing question pack and providing feedback within the required timeframe (typically within ten working days)

  • Participating in one annual Research Advisory Board meeting (minimum of 90 minutes), facilitated by an independent chair and supported by our research team. Two insurer observers will also attend.

  • Contributing to informed discussion on any differences in adviser feedback to help resolve research issues

If you would like more information about the role or wish to review our terms of reference, please contact Doreen at researcher@qpresearch.co.nzor Russell at russell.hutchinson@chatwood.co.nz.
