Mint appointed new Independent Director of the Board

Tracey Cross has joined the Mint Asset Management Board as an Independent Director and Chair of the Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee.

Tracey has over 25 years of specialised experience in financial services regulatory compliance, corporate governance and strategy.

Tracey is a respected figure in the financial services industry with well-established networks. She is passionate about people, culture and purpose, and her expertise in governance and background in law lends itself to high professional credibility.

Brett Sutton Independent Director and Chair of Mint Asset Management said “Tracey is a welcomed addition to the board. She brings a great depth of knowledge and expertise that will help guide Mint in the years ahead, as it grows as a leading funds management provider”.

As a leading lawyer in the funds management and superannuation industry, recognised by both Chambers & Partners and The Legal 500 Asia-Pacific, up until late last year Tracey practised as a partner at DLA Piper New Zealand. During her time at DLA Piper, she led the establishment of the Leadership Alliance of Women, acting as the New Zealand Chair for 8 years. This role included the development of strategic initiatives, partnerships and leadership in diversity and gender balance.

She currently co-chairs the Financial Services Council’s Diversity and Inclusion initiative and is leading the national ‘It Starts with Action’ campaign focused on improving the financial wellbeing of women.

As a founder member and current Chair of Women in Super, Tracey champions education, enhancing financial capabilities and financial literacy of New Zealand Women.

She is an Independent Director, sitting on both the Audit and Risk, and Remuneration Committees at AIA New Zealand Limited, New Zealand’s largest life insurer.

Tracey holds an LLB from Victoria University and is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. She has been a member of the Institute of Directors since 2019 and a Charter member since 2020.
