From NZXWT to FNZ and back again

Josh Hunt has returned to NZX Wealth Technologies (NZXWT) after a stint at rival FNZ.

Hunt has been appointed Head of Customer Solutions, and will lead engagement with prospective clients and shaping the firm’s sales strategy.

In this role, Josh will focus on NZXWT’s market-facing growth efforts, working closely with wealth managers, advisers and investment providers to develop long-term business partnerships and structure platform solutions that enable clients to achieve their strategic and commercial objectives.

Hunt previously worked within the business as a Senior Functional Consultant. Most recently, he held senior roles at FNZ, where he focused on platform solutions and commercial engagement, working alongside wealth managers and investment providers to design operating models that support sustainable growth.

"His appointment reflects NZXWT’s approach to sales as a consultative, partnership-driven discipline, centred on understanding client businesses and enabling successful outcomes well beyond onboarding."

Alos, Jarrod McDonald has been appointed Head of Relationship Management, reflecting NZXWT’s continued focus on delivering a high-quality, consistent client experience as the platform scales.

McDonald joined NZXWT in 2022 as Business Development Manager and has played a central role in the company’s growth phase, contracting 29 new adviser groups and contributing to an increase in platform funds under administration from $10 billion in November 2022 to $19.9 billion.

He will lead the Relationship Management team, overseeing client relationships, service delivery and deepening partnerships across NZXWT’s growing client base. The change reflects the increasing scale of the platform and NZXWT’s commitment to ensuring existing clients continue to receive a highly engaged, relationship-led service.

NZX Wealth Technologies Chief Executive, Robbie Douglas, said the appointments strengthen both the commercial and client leadership of the business.

In the most recent financial year, the platform reported funds under administration of $19.9 billion, representing year-on-year growth of 23.1%, and onboarded 13 new clients, bringing the total number of clients to 45.

This growth includes expanding on the existing relationship with Craigs Investment Partners, with NZXWT undertaking a project to onboard Craigs’ custody and private wealth operations, highlighting the platform’s scalability and its ability to support both smaller advice firms and larger institutional clients.
