For Kirwan this is somewhat of a full circle journey as many years ago she headed up the SHARE group. She spent nearly four years in that role leaving in December 2011.
She takes over Apex from Craig Mulholland. He has been at Apex for just over four years and before that spent a decade at ANZ.
Mulholland told Good Returns it was time for him to do something different.
"I had delivered everything I set out to do at Apex so the timing was right.
"Bronwyn will do a great job in the next phase of the Apex journey."
Auckland-based Apex was set up about 30 years ago by Andrew Hay. Currently it lists nine offices (including one in the Cook Islands) and according to the FSPR has 42 financial advisers.
Kirwan has been at Fidelity Life for nearly five years and her latest role was Chief Commerical Officer.
