Partners permanent premium reduction

Partners Life is offering permanent premium reductions for policyholders who meet specified BMI measures.

Saturday, June 20th 2026, 12:55PM

Partners Life's new Life Advantage campaign is offering a lower premium rate for life for policy holders with a BMI between 18.50 and 26.99.

The following covers under Partners Life Journey Plan and Partners Life Journey Plan (for Business) are eligible for the Life Advantage discount:

  • Life Cover
  • Life Income Cover
  • Trauma Cover Accelerated and Standalone
  • Moderate Trauma Cover Accelerated and Standalone
  • Severe Trauma Cover Accelerated and Standalone

Besides meeting the BMI requirements policyholders need to be aged 16 and over and be non-smokers. When applying for new or increased cover they will need to complete full medical underwriting.

"Even if clients reduce their cover in the future, the percentage discount remains in place for the lifetime of their eligible cover. Plus, this offer can be combined with the multi-benefit discounts – maximising the opportunity to save," Partners say in a note to advisers.

ChatGPT describes a BMI of between 18.50 and 26.99 thus:

  • BMI 18.5–20: Generally slim, with less visible body fat. Clothing often hangs loosely.
  • BMI 20–23: Often considered an average or lean build. Waist definition is usually visible.
  • BMI 23–25: Average to solid build. May have some softness around the waist but still appear healthy and proportionate.
  • BMI 25–27: Can range from athletic and muscular to carrying a modest amount of extra weight around the abdomen, depending on body composition.
