David Hutton had been reappointed as Public Trustee and chief executive of the Public Trust Office for a further five year term.State Services Commissioner Michael Wintringham says the reappointment followed a rigorous assessment of Hutton's suitability to continue in the post, including an assessment of his performance to date and an interview with a group of external advisers.
Hutton was first appointed as the Public Trustee and the chief executive of the Public Trust in 1993.
The office is currently moving from its roots as a trustee company to a financial services company.It will shortly introduce mortgages, mortgage protection insurance, and fire and general insurance products.
The office employs 458 people and has annual revenue of $98 milli.
