by Philip Macalister

MLC's New Zealand manager Andrew Kuruc has been transferred back to head office in Sydney following the proposed merger of MLC's parent company Lend Lease and National Mutual.
The two groups have agreed to merge their life insurance and funds management operations in Australia and New Zealand.
Kuruc is still responsible for MLC's products in New Zealand, however that role will be taken over by National Mutual's Jill Paterson later in the year.
Kuruc says with the merger it made sense that the two operations in New Zealand were combined.

He says the Australian funds offered by MLC in New Zealand will continue to carry the MLC name.
