by Philip Macalister

Alan Bradley, who currently is the managing director of Royal & SunAlliance's fire and general arm, is to become chief executive of Royal & SunAlliance in New Zealand.
This means that Bradley will have overall charge of both fire and general as well as the life, superannuation and investment aspects of the group.
"Alan Bradley's appointment to this key role is in line with our international strategy and practice of more closely aligning our two core areas of business under one chief executive," chairman Geoff Ricketts says.

Current life company managing director Tim Sole will be part of the senior executive team and a close advisor to Bradley during a 12 month extension to his secondment to New Zealand as managing director of the life company.
