Colonial First State Investment Managers chief investment officer Tim Mitchell is leaving the company in February to establish his own business.
Mike Gibbs-Harris is the new chief investment officer. Gibbs-Harris is currently director, HSBC Asset Management in Hong Kong.
Colonial First State chief executive Bruce Abraham says Gibbs-Harris' appointment will address a weakness in the New Zealand fund management industry, namely too much focus on New Zealand markets at the expense of international opportunities.

The New Zealand investment team is responsible for asset allocation decisions, equity investment in Australasian and global bond and currency management. hn
