As reported last week, Peter Rourke, formerly of American International Assurance will join Royal & SunAlliance in Wellington as Business Development Manager on 9 August.National Sales Manager for Royal & SunAlliance, Vince Costa says the company has been fortunate to obtain the services of Peter.
“He is highly regarded in the industry and will add to the current strength in the Wellington office,” he said.
Scottish-born Rourke has had over 24 years experience in financial services and came to New Zealand in 1989 when he helped set up the Sovereign Assurance office in Wellington.
Since then, he has worked for the Bank of New Zealand, the Tower Group and latterly for American International.
Rourke says that having worked as a broker for many years in the early stages of his career gives him an empathy with the intermediaries he will be dealing with.
