New chief and indians at FPIA

Paul O'Brien is the new president of the Financial Planners and Insurance Advisers Association, taking over from Andrew Charles. Senior vice president for 2001/2002 is Bernard Gresham and John Bunny has been elected vice president.
Palmerston North-based O'Brien works for Royal & SunAlliance, and he has been heavily involved in development of the association's education programme. He is a Chartered Life Underwriter.

The new members on the FPIA board are: Steve Richens and George Elkington from the College of Insurance Advisers and Stephen O'Connor from the College of Financial Planners. Other members are Stan Blanch, Simon Hassan and Alan Milton.
Richens is a co-founder of the Moneta Financial Group in Christchurch. Wellington-based Elkington is a Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Financial Consultant. He holds the Diploma of Business Studies (Personal Financial Planning) and is a registered professional trustee.
Stephen O'Connor is the managing director of Broadbase Southland in Invercargill. He is a former national board member of the IAFP and FPIA.
