AssureDirect offers significant premium discounts

A new website offers users significant discounts on life insurance premuims.

When people buy insurance there are a number of questions which should be considered:-

    • What type (or combination of types) of cover do I need?
    • How much insurance is enough?
    • What do different insurance companies charge for the same type and level of cover?

AssureDirect (www.assuredirect.co.nz) was created so that New Zealanders could determine for themselves what types of insurances, and the level of cover, that best suited their needs - and then make their selection from the offerings of a number of New Zealand’s leading insurance companies.

Distributing financial products via the internet is not without cost. However, because prospective clients won’t spend time with an advisor face-to-face if they make their purchase via the Internet, costs can be considerably lower. AssureDirect passes these reduced costs on to its clients as cheaper premiums.

AssureDirect differentiates itself from any other net based insurance distribution company in two key ways:-

    • We give our clients 50% of our brokerage. This is done by AssureDirect only taking half normal commission on all products sold from our website. This rebate turns up as a 10% reduction in the regular policy premium.
    • We donate 15% of gross revenue before expenses to charity. Those charities may be CCF, World Vision or the Salvation Army Red Shield.

On the AssureDirect website (www.assuredirect.co.nz) are tools that will help you decide how much life insurance is enough; what types of insurance cover you should be thinking about – and why; descriptions and explanations of each of the major types of insurance (life, trauma, total and permanent disablement, income protection, medical); and what a well designed insurance portfolio looks like.

There is a glossary of insurance terms on the website that will give you a better understanding of the industry, and our insurance needs analysis will help you crunch the numbers, based on your own goals and objectives, so that you know exactly how much insurance is enough.

We use current independent research on insurance products, which give us a thorough understanding of policy wording, definitions, exclusions, restrictions plus a variety of other information. Although this is not available online due to copyright restrictions, we use this information when making a recommendation to our clients.

Although the website is designed to facilitate sales of life insurance without ever meeting with an advisor, many of our clients will discuss their needs with us by email, and seek our recommendations as to the mix of different types of insurance that may be appropriate given their ages, gender, smoking status and occupations.

Although AssureDirect started life as an experiment, we have discovered that we can run a web based business selling life insurance, and still make a profit even though we give away 65% of the normal income paid to brokers – 50% given to our clients, and 15% given to charity.
