Sovereign appoints new GM

Sovereign Assurance’s Scott Black has recently been appointed general manager – channel development. Black has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry, with an emphasis on sales and marketing.
His focus in his new role will be on growing and strengthening Sovereign’s relationships with its distribution alliances, and will see him return to work more closely with advisers in the field. In addition, Black will continue to manage Sovereign’s relationship with ASB and he will also be active in managing the delivery of technology solutions to Sovereign’s distribution channels.
Sovereign director of distribution, David Haak, says that Black's appointment reflects Sovereign’s commitment to strengthening its distribution network, and confirms that the move has been welcomed by the many advisers who have enjoyed working with Black in the past.
