Symposium on Savings Wealth and Retirement

The Symposium will be a significant event, as new information from the Survey of Household Net Worth will be released, and issues such as the adequacy of household savings for retirement in New Zealand and Australia will be explored.The symposium will interest the general public, as well as people in the financial services industry, researchers, economists, academics, politicians, political advisers, media, policy workers, journalists, voluntary organisations, students and commentators.
Speakers will include Hon Dr Michael Cullen, Minister of Finance, Dr Grant Scobie, Treasury, Prof John Piggott, University of New South Wales, Dr John Gibson, University of Waikato, Dr John Creedy, Treasury, Ms Tanya Randall, Statistics NZ, as well as discussants and commentators.
Prof Gary Hawke, Victoria University, and Dr Alan Bollard, Governor of the Reserve Bank will chair the sessions.
The Symposium is being held on 13 June 2003, at Circa Theatre, 1 Taranaki Street, Wellington, from 8.30am – 3.30pm with lunch provided. The cost is $95.00 (including GST).
