Sovereign appoints new national sales manager

Saturday, April 17th 2004, 2:24AM
Sovereign has appointed Malcolm Aston to national sales manager, home loans. Aston has moved internally from his previous position in distribution as regional manager, Northern.

He studied law and spent five years on the bench as a magistrate in South Africa before moving into the financial services industry. Since then, he has had over 13 years experience in various roles in the financial services industry, both in New Zealand and South Africa.

Aston moves into this role following a period of enormous success for Sovereign’s Home Loan business. His experience in financial services and his strong strategic and technical skills, will ensure that Sovereign continues the growth that it has recently enjoyed

Chris Barry, general manager home loans is looking forward to working with Aston. "The Home Loan market will continue to present significant opportunities in the future. We know that Malcolm will play a large part in ensuring that we continue to capture the growth that we have to date."
