BT appoints new fixed interest manager

Thursday, July 15th 2004, 10:09PM
BT Funds Management has appointed Andrew Blackler to the position of New Zealand fixed interest manager, replacing Kevin McEntee who has decided to leave BT.

Blackler will be supported by Steve Campbell who will takeover Blackler’s former responsibilities.

Blackler joined BT in 1997 and has most recently held the position of BT New Zealand’s money market and currency manager.

Steve Campbell joins BT New Zealand from his current role as an analyst in BT Australia’s Asset Management team, which he joined in 1999. He has held a number of key roles within the BT investment process, including portfolio construction, analysis and trading.

BT chief investment officer, Guy Strapp says that “duration management continues to be the key source of out-performance for BT’s New Zealand fixed interest portfolios, however additional sources of alpha are being sought and it is envisaged that BT in New Zealand will seek to leverage off BT Australia's strengths in this area.
