ASB Group appoints new manager investment management

Ainsley McLaren has accepted the position of manager investment management at ASB Group Investments. McLaren is replacing Mark Wooster who is leaving after having been with the group for more than three years.

McLaren will have overall responsibility for all investment management decisions. She is responsible for the investment performance of portfolios, management of the team of ASB investment professionals, and will provide key input to investment strategy decisions.

The ASBGI Investment Management team is responsible for assets of $5.4 billion, some of which is managed internally and the balance mandated out with external investment managers who are rated in their field in the management of specific asset classes.

McLaren is currently head of sales and service, ASB Financial Markets. Prior to joining ASB in 1993, she had an extensive career in the banking and investment industry, and obtained a degree in economics.
