Richard Flinn joins BT Funds

Friday, November 25th 2005, 1:58AM
BT Funds Management has appointed Richard Flinn as Head of Product and Marketing, with responsibility for all of BT’s managed investment products distributed through investment advisers and Westpac bank wealth advisers.

Flinn has worked in the financial services industry in New Zealand for 18 years and has considerable experience at the helm of some of New Zealand’s leading fund management companies.

For the past eight years, he has led product management teams in the managed funds sector. This has included building the ASB Superannuation Master Trust product – a specialist vehicle for the work based superannuation market. This product later became one of the three funds selected for the New Zealand State Sector Retirement Savings Plan. More recently he was charged with building a new retail managed funds product suite for the AMP adviser network which included both unit trust and personal superannuation funds.

Flinn has been active in the distribution or client-facing side of the business. He has had extensive experience in providing investment advice and portfolio construction and monitoring services to high- net worth clients, with over $1 million investable funds.

He has also served as a consultant on various projects to most major insurance companies and banks active in the managed funds sector, as well as to some of New Zealand’s largest financial advisory firms. These projects included market analysis, distribution strategies, product analysis and design, quality control and risk analysis and research models.
