Morningstar appoints new NZ manager

Thursday, December 15th 2005, 7:32AM
Morningstar has appointed Chris Cloete as Head of Sales for New Zealand.

Cloete will manage Morningstar's relationships with New Zealand financial advisers and financial institutions, including sales of the Morningstar Adviser Workstation web-based software platform.

"We're pleased to bring Chris on board," Morningstar Australia and New Zealand Chief Executive Scott Cooley said.

"His extensive background in financial planning, adviser training, and software solutions gives him real insights into the everyday challenges facing advisers and their businesses."

Cloete was previously a business development manager with Innofin Pty Ltd in Cape Town, South Africa, where he worked closely with financial advisers in business development and training, and managed relationships with private banking and broking groups. Before that, he worked as a senior financial planner with ABSA Brokers in Johannesburg, where he managed a portfolio of 300 clients with investments totalling over 68 million rand. His background also includes running his own financial planning business.
