Merv Chan has accepted an appointment as independent chairman of the financial planning association's membership and certification committee.

Former chairman, Graham Edgar, retired because of ill-health.

Chan has been involved inindustry training courses for many years and previously worked for AdviserLink. He is currently a senior associate with Mercer HR Consulting.
