New chief operating officer at Southern Cross

Lindsey Lawton has been appointed to a new position of Chief Operating Officer, Management Services, for the Southern Cross Medical Care Society reporting to CEO, Dr Ian McPherson.Lawton has a background in finance, consulting and healthcare management, most recently as Chief Executive with Fertility Associates. In her new role she will be responsible for Southern Cross' finance, actuarial, human resource, information systems and learning and development functions.
Announcing the appointment, McPherson said her financial and medical background would be an asset to the Society in a rapid growth phase.
"Her appointment ensures that the vital functions which support our services to Members will operate efficiently and effectively and that we make the best use of our expert resources as we pursue growth opportunities."
