HFANZ announces new president & executive director

Thursday, August 23rd 2007, 5:16AM
The Health Funds Association of New Zealand (HFANZ) announced two new appointments; Steve Boomert, Tower Health & Life ceo, takes over the reins as president, while Roger Styles has been appointed as the association's new executive director effective September 1.

Boomert has been Tower's representative on the HFANZ board since 2005, after returning from overseas, and has played a key role in the development and strategic direction of the Association. Boomert takes up the role from the retiring president Dermot Martin. Having held the position since 2000, Martin decided it was time to hand over the reins.

Styles has been with HFANZ for the past 15 months, working alongside executive director Claire Austin who leaves this month to take up an Australian based role. Styles has a strong background in public policy and is looking forward to helping advance health outcomes from a broader health financing perspective.
