Asteron Life Ltd has appointed Barry Read to the newly created role of national manager group relationships.

Mark Frecklington, national sales manager says "Read brings a wealth of experience in the New Zealand insurance industry and in developing distribution opportunities. This appointment is recognition of the importance we place on adviser group businesses"

With over 20 years experience in the financial services industry, Read currently chairs the Auckland IFA Branch committee. His career includes working for Norwich Union and AXA. In his most recent role he was responsible for regional and national distribution development opportunities for Tower.

Key initiatives for Read are co-ordinating and delivering support for national financial advisory groups. This involves working in partnership to help identify and maximise profitable business opportunities for adviser groups.
