Head of Newpark Darren Gannon says Van der Merwe will help implement Newpark's strategic plan and assist in the growth and development of adviser businesses.

"Marks overseas experience will be a huge asset to advisers who are looking for help and guidance under the new regulatory environment."

Van der Merwe has 12 years industry experience as a BDM and Adviser in the South African market place.

"I have been through the compliance and regulatory process in South Africa and can just concur that at first it may seem daunting and frustrating but in the long run it will just make the industry more professional which will create more opportunities for us all, so embrace it!"

He says with the great educational pathway that Newpark provides for brokers to get compliant it should be no problem to get there.
