Aston takes up sales position at ING Life

ING Life has appointed Malcolm Aston as head of sales where he will focus on building strong channel relationships and a sales strategy as ING launches the OnePath brand.

Based in Glenfield, Auckland, Aston will be responsible for leading the sales team and building relationships with its adviser network.

ING Life says Aston brings a wealth of experience in the life and risk industry and joins after eight years with Sovereign.

The insurer says Aston has a reputation for achieving and surpassing targets as seen during his long tenure at Sovereign.

"He is passionate about life and risk investment and with strong connections in the IFA network. this appointment demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering the best products for our customers and ensuring they have the protection they need," says ING Life.

Aston's previous experience includes two years with AIA and a national sales manager role for one of South Africa's largest life risk businesses, Professional Provident Society.

Born in South Africa, Malcolm has more than 20 years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to that he worked as a Magistrate in Port Elizabeth. Aston has lived and worked in New Zealand for over a decade.
