Mark Frecklington, previously Head of Distribution, has been appointed to the position of Executive Manager Intermediated Sales and Don Allerston has been confirmed as Executive Manager Marketing and Product.

The critical part claims and underwriting play in reinforcing Asteron's brand strength has been recognised by creating a role at executive manager level focussed specifically on these areas. The company is currently completing an executive search in the market and internally to fill this role.

In addition these management changes there is a new director. Sir Eion Edgar has been appointed as an independent director.  He is chairman of Forsyth Barr and previously served  as a board member of the Reserve Bank, chairman of The New Zealand Stock Exchange and is a former director of Royal & Sun Alliance (Asteron’s previous parent).
