Sovereign appoints claims manager

Sovereign has appointed Pieter Breytenbach as Head of Claims.
The appointment reflects Sovereign’s commitment to drive innovation and enhance the claims process, Chief Officer, Customer Management and Product Rebecca Russell says.
“Providing an efficient, responsive and positive claims experience is at the heart of our business,” says Rebecca. “Pieter will lead a dedicated claims team we believe to be the best in the country.
“Our claims team works tirelessly to make sure every customer going through the claims process receives the very best care for as long as they need it, but we will always strive to do better for our customers. Pieter is tasked with driving continuous innovation to enhance the claims process, and achieve our overarching goal of making sure our customers always have a positive claims experience.”
Breytenbach has 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, including nine years in senior roles at Sovereign. Most recently he was Relationship Manager for Sovereign Distribution’s sales support team, looking after the company’s bank relationships.
In earlier roles, he held a range of senior management positions in Sovereign’s Corporate Operations division.
Russell says Breytenbach's experience in the life insurance industry and depth of knowledge of Sovereign’s business provides him with the perfect skills to lead the claims team.
