Asteron completes its executive bench line up

Monday, June 23rd 2014, 9:46AM

Asteron Life has appointed David Drillien to the new role of executive manager of product, underwriting and new business.

Drillien joins Asteron Life from Australia’s second largest retail life insurer National Australian Bank (NAB) where he headed up the retail insurance product team.

His appointment completes Asteron Life’s executive bench, following Nadine Tereora’s promotion to the role of executive general manager in March.

Tereora says Drillien has extensive experience in general management roles with a very successful track record in leadership capability.

“David is a highly focused individual committed to product delivery and leading teams to achieve excellence. He has an unrelenting passion for the customer. David’s appointment and the creation of this new role reinforces our continued focus on delivering a superior customer experience at Asteron Life” says Tereora.

Earlier this month, Asteron Life appointed Tracey Lonergan to the newly created position of Executive Manager of Claims – a role dedicated to enhancing claims and customer experience.  “Both Tracey and David’s appointments will help ensure Asteron Life drives customer satisfaction and implements the very best customer solutions practices the industry has to offer.”

Prior to his role at NAB, Drillien had a long career at Sovereign and Colonial Mutual. At Sovereign he was most recently General Manager of Marketing and Product.  He has also held a number of roles in marketing, communications, product (home loans and life insurance), brand management, public relations and corporate affairs.
