Brown was formerly the head of Strategy, Innovation and Engagement at the FMA and left in May 2014 to rejoin law firm DLA Piper.

At DLA Piper Brown is a partner in its Corporate and Financial Services teams, working in the financial markets, corporate, regulatory and government sectors.

She has more than 25 years' experience as an adviser to corporates and financial market participants in New Zealand, Australia and the UK.

But she is leaving at the end of the month to start her new business, where she will work under her own name and provide advice on governance, regulation and legal issues.
