Regionally we saw the disruption brought about by the Australian floods and also the Japanese earthquake & tsunami. In Europe there was the growing recognition that, even with the most ruthless austerity measures, the road forward would still be strewn with rocks
Throughout 2011 these events saw increased volatility pervade global markets, with risk on / risk off investing contributing to market uncertainty.
