by Philip Macalister

Royal & SunAlliance has appointed Tom Jackson to the position of general manager, sales and marketing development.
Jackson, formerly managing director of Guardian Assurance, which was recently acquired by Royal & SunAlliance, brings a wealth of knowledge to this position.
"We are delighted to have someone with Tom's knowledge, expertise and leadership in this important area," chief executive Alan Bradley says. "He will make a fundamental contribution to the ongoing success of Royal & SunAlliance."

Jackson will have wide reaching responsibilities in the life and investment company. Namely, distribution channels, intermediary relationships, risk, savings and investment product lines, compliance and electronic commerce.
Jackson will work with assistant managing director Christine Scott.
Jackson will be a key member of Royal & SunAlliance's recently established Personal Financial Services task force.
