Loan Market had its first ever New Zealand based conference and awards last week with the Brokers choice for Broker of the Year going to Bruce Patten and the Innovation Award to Sharon Main.

Patten says he was pleasantly surprised and that it was good to be recognised by his peers.

Main says her Aspire team have meetings every week with an aim to improve the business and customer experience, being "somewhat humbled by the innovation award".

Stuart Matheson won the Chief Executive Award as well as the runner-up Broker of the Year.

The Lender of the Year was Westpac.

The referral channel Rookie of the Year went to Peter Lewis and the associate channel Rookie of the Year went to Justin Mogford who only went out on his own six months ago, opening the business Priority Home Loans.

He says it's awesome to get recognition for his hard work and he believes the relationships and repore he builds with clients, referrers and other professionals was the key to success.

Patten's personal assistant Pat Dugdale won PA of the year, with Main's PA Jo Reid, the runner-up.
