ANZ appoints new insurance distribution boss

ANZ has appointed a new head of adviser distribution for its insurance products.

Andrew Boughey has been working as a business development manager in the OnePath business for the past two years.

Before that, he was a sales manager at AXA Insurance, based in Hong Kong.

He also worked in private banking and wealth management for banks in New Zealand and London.

Boughey has a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) in Finance and Economics from the University of Otago, a Diploma of Financial Planning and a National Certificate in Financial Services as well as similar qualifications for the Hong Kong and UK markets.

While in Hong Kong, Boughey was responsible for promoting AXA’s products and services to 100 IFA firms representing 750 advisers.

"This experience in maintaining and developing relationships with advisers will be a great asset in his new role as our head of adviser distribution," an ANZ spokeswoman said.

"Andrew will be responsible for the distribution of OnePath Life insurance products to independent advisers. He will maintain our existing relationships with advisers, while also leading our sales team and working closely with our broader claims and product teams."
