Do We Have To Register For GST?

Does our company, which will be renting houses on a rent-to-own scheme, have to be GST-registered?

My family has set up a small company whereby two properties have been purchased and rented out to relatives. It has been agreed that these relatives will go on a rent-to-own scheme in April 2003 over three years; their weekly payments will go towards their deposit and after three years they agree to pay the balance owing.
More properties will be bought by this company with the intention of helping relatives to own their own homes rather than renting. My question is: does this company have to register for GST?
