State houses wanted on Mt Wellington quarry land
There are no firm plans for state homes or a secondary school in the former Mt Wellington quarry - despite a predicted population of up to 8000.

The Education Ministry expects the development to bring in 700 primary pupils and 500 secondary students.It's investigating a new primary school but not a secondary school.
The secondary schools closest to the site, Selwyn College and Tamaki College, are close to capacity.
A ministry spokeswoman says the schools are on big sites and can be expanded as rolls increase.
In March, 2256 people were waiting for state homes in the Auckland region.
More than 519 applications were from Glen Innes and 141 were high priority.
Housing New Zealand is planning to build 2406 homes in Auckland by June 2007 and will see if it can afford the quarry when the opportunity arises.
State house tenant Judyth Hilton says it should make the most of the opportunity.
