Property man the target of arsonists
Arsonists may have followed a Riccarton-based property developer to Kaikoura, firing his waterfront property this morning.

The blaze is the third arson under investigation in relation to Riccarton Construction Ltd director Kevin McGoverne, with two properties and one vehicle targeted.This morning's blaze torched an unoccupied house he owns at Kaikoura's Whakatu Quay.
An accelerant had been used to set the fire in six different places.
Mr McGoverne declined to comment this morning, but was driving to Kaikoura to assess the damage.
Earlier this year he offered a $10,000 reward after arsonists struck his late 19th century Christchurch property Merivale Manor on May 12.
