Brian Lenehan and David Wallace

Allianz Partners New Zealand has appointed Brian Lenehan as its Chief Underwriting Officer and David Wallace as Chief Sales Officer.

"These two executives further enhance Allianz Partners New Zealand’s strong market presence and will support a generation of future growth, as the company brings additional products and services to New Zealand," the company says in a statement.

Allianz Partners provides assistance services, travel insurance, event insurance, pet insurance and student insurance products, through their local and international business partners.

Lenehan brings more than 25 years of insurance industry experience to Allianz, with a specialisation in life insurance. Until recently, he was Co-Chair of the Financial Services Council Life Insurance Committee. He is a qualified actuary, and is a current member of the New Zealand Society of Actuaries (NZSA) Professional Conduct Committee and former member of the NZSA Council.

Lenehan has extensive expertise and skills in pricing, product development and management of insurance products. He was previously at AMP where he was responsible for pricing and analytics.

Wallace has left AMP to take on his new role. His previous roles include Head of Contemporary Wealth Management and Head of Wealth Management Transformation at AMP New Zealand.

Wallace has also contributed extensively to the wider financial service industry, having held roles including the Deputy Chair of Workplace Savings NZ, Chairman of the Financial Services Council’s Strategic Research and Data and Insights Committees and as a member of the Financial Service Council’s Investment Committee.

Allianz Partners chief executive Renato Mattos said these are crucial roles within their New Zealand operations that will further cement Allianz Partners as the leader in travel insurance within New Zealand.
