AA Insurance names new CEO
AA Insurance has named a new chief executive officer, Michelle James, effective February 2023.

James was part of the Tower Insurance executive leadership team where she held a variety of executive portfolios including strategy, customer experience and more recently, leading Tower’s direct and digital business.
She will take over from former CEO Chris Curtin who announced his retirement in August after 28 years.
Acting CEO, Simon Hobbs who has held the role for the past year will resume his role as general manager operations after James’s arrival in February 2023.
James says she is excited to step into the role at such a pivotal time for the insurance industry.
“I look forward to working with the AA Insurance team to build on its success and contribute further to an industry that plays such a critical role in the lives and wellbeing of New Zealanders.”
