The chief executive of NZX-owned Smart has resigned to take up a new role.

Wednesday, July 2nd 2025, 11:34AM

Smart chief executive Anna Scott has resigned from the organisation and has been appointed to "lead the New Zealand office of a global financial services firm" from October 1.

Her new role has not been disclosed thus far.

Prior to joining what was SmartShares in 2023, Scott was the chief operating officer of Hobson Wealth, which was acquired by Forsyth Barr three months after her departure.

She has held roles in programme and business management in London, Kuala Lumpur and Auckland and was an executive director and global business manager for JPMorgan’s investment bank currency trading division.

In 2019, she held the position of future director with NZX.
