Thursday, February 1st 2007, 10:11PM
Asteron has appointed Dr Antony Vriens as Head of Operations and Risk, and Chief Medical Officer. He succeeds David Wright who returns to Asteron Australia.

Dr Vriens is a qualified doctor and currently Head of Claims Asteron Australia. Prior to joining Asteron he held roles as Head of Claims for Sovereign and Southern Cross where he was Clinical Director for HealthWorks.

He will be responsible for the delivery of service excellence to advisers and their clients – encompassing new business, underwriting, claims, policy administration and customer contact centre

“Antony’s considerable experience as a medical professional and in the specialised fields of underwriting and claims strengthens our business in these critical areas.” Asteron NZ Managing Director Sean Carroll says.

“Combining this valuable experience with his keen interest in process innovation and finding ways to make processes work better for advisers and their clients supports our philosophy of continuous improvement to provide market leading customer focused service.”

Dr Vriens is a regular presenter on health, lifestyle and life insurance topics at conferences in NZ and overseas.
