An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen from a newly aligned team structure. The Group Head - Te Māpara (Finance and Planning) takes a lead role in financial leadership, planning processes, reporting, risk management, audit, business effectiveness and administration to support the overall functioning of the organisation of Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu.
Te Māpara is a key component of our centralised support services, delivering effective, efficient and integrated financial, planning and performance and business support services. This team forms part of the wider service support structure of Te Uru Kahikatea which also includes Legal, People & Culture, Communications and Monitoring and Compliance functions. Together these teams provide high quality service provision to all stakeholders across Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu group businesses and other key associated entities.
To be successful in this role you will be passionate about supporting and enabling the interests and aspirations of Ngāi Tahu Whānui.

Key attributes sought include:
- Professionally qualified accountant with proven experience in leading financial strategy.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate across a range of stakeholders.
- Senior leadership experience in a similar complex setting.
- Ability to think strategically, balance competing priorities and deliver within tight timescales.
- Personal resilience and courageous leadership traits.
- An ability to drive continuous improvement.
- Proven collaboration skills and experience.
- A strong affinity with Ngāi Tahu values and aspirations.
