9th annual CFA Society Forecast Dinner

The 9th annual CFA Society Forecast dinner features the following speakers:
Dr William (Bill) Poole, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute and a distinguished scholar in residence at the University of Delaware, will address the topic "Economic Growth:
Niall Ferguson versus Robert Gordon. Ferguson emphasises the importance of institutions in democratic societies conducive to growth. He worries that disincentives to work and costly regulation are sapping growth potential in the United States.
Gordon emphasises technology. Past drivers of growth, such as the steam engine and electricity, can only be invented once. He is pessimistic that technological developments of comparable importance will occur again.
