Stefan Smith has been appointed as senior multi-asset investment analyst to the Aurora Capital investment team.
The appointment comes as Aurora Capital passes $400 million in funds under management and nears 15,000 members. A milestone that reflects both the company’s rapid growth and increasing demand for personalised, adviser-led investment solutions.
Smith has more than 15 years of international investment experience. He has held various positions at globally recognised financial institutions including J.P. Morgan and Deutsche Bank, as well as boutique fund managers and large institutional asset managers. His career has taken him across London, New York, and Amsterdam, where he honed his expertise in multi-asset portfolio management, fund-of-fund strategies, and active asset allocation.
Aurora Capital chief executive Sharon Mackay said Smith's "global experience and depth of knowledge in portfolio construction and risk management will be a real asset to our investment approach."
"As we continue to grow, we remain focused on delivering best-in-class investment outcomes for our members. Strengthening our team with talent like Stefan is a key part of that commitment.”
Smith joins the investment team under the leadership of chief investment officer Sean Henaghan, as Aurora Capital continues to build out its capabilities and reinforce its position as an innovative player in New Zealand’s investment landscape.
